Upgrading our website search engine

Our website search has recently undergone some updates to improve user experience, based on feedback from you, its users.
To inform this work, over 200 web users took part in an exercise to categorise different topics into groups (keywords). This helped us to make sure that any changes we were making were based on insights gathered from those who use our website regularly.
The search function now offers:
- the ability to sort results by most relevant, newest or oldest. Select the dropdown on the right-hand side of the search screen to select how you wish to display the results.
- the ability to apply filters to your results based on relevant topics, keywords, types of content and publication date. Select any of the options from the list in the left-hand side of the search screen to narrow down the search results.
- an autocomplete feature which predicts the rest of a word or phrase as you start typing in the search box.
- a 'did you mean?' feature designed to help users find what they are looking for, even if they make a typo or spelling mistake.
We hope that the new search function allows you to find the information you need quickly, saving you precious time in your busy day.
We are always keen to hear of any suggestions to improve our website further. Please email us to let us know what you think or to report any issues you are experiencing with finding content.
