Session details

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming virtual Armed Forces Community Connect session on February 25, from 10:30am-12:00pm. This quarter, our focus is on the theme strengthening the workplace: reservists as catalysts for positive change.

If you’re unable to attend but would like the session notes or presentations, or have a question you would like to raise at the session please contact armedforces@nhsemployers.org

This engaging an interaction session will be broken into three sessions:

  • Reservists as leaders: translating military skills into workplace success. This session highlights how military experience equips reservists with leadership and problem-solving skills that enhance team dynamics and performance in civilian roles.
  • The employer’s perspective: why supporting Reservists is worth itThis session will feature an employer discussing how supporting reservists has improved organizational outcomes, including employee retention, diversity, and public reputation.
  • Bridging the gap: Reservists as ambassadors for collaboration. A discussion on how reservists’ dual roles foster stronger connections between the healthcare sector and the Armed Forces, creating mutual benefits for both communities.

Community Connect offers:

  • presentations on key themes around supporting Armed Forces reservists in the NHS
  • a forum to share ideas and success, and network with fellow Armed Forces champions
  • guidance on how to build your organisation’s reputation as an Armed Forces-friendly employer
