Recording Certificate of Sponsorship information now available in ESR

A function that lets employers record Certificate of Sponsorship numbers and expiry dates in the Electronic Staff Record is now available.

Two new attributes have been added to Electronic Staff Record (ESR) in Release 63.2 to support organisations in tracking an individual’s sponsorship status.

From now, ESR will record:

  • Certificate of Sponsorship numbers
  • Certificate of Sponsorship expiry dates.

To employ an overseas national on the Worker and Temporary Worker immigration routes (including the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Visa routes), employers need to apply for a licence to sponsor individuals.

The update was released following successful testing over the weekend on 31 January and is now available for employers to use.

Following the deployment of this change, organisations now have access to sponsor information under the employment checklist extra person information. This will streamline communication with the Home Office and enable organisations to monitor sponsored individuals effectively.

Additionally, automated reminders for upcoming expiry dates will support timely renewals, reducing the risk of non-compliance.
