HCPC launches Continuing Professional Development week

The upcoming Health and Care Professions Council campaign will begin on 3 March.

21 February 2025

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has planned a week-long event to focus on continuing professional development (CPD) of its registered healthcare professionals.

The first ever CPD week will take place between 3-7 March, online and across social media, with each day having a different theme.

The campaign will provide an opportunity to showcase resources and good practice cases with registrants and employers and help them to develop their knowledge and understanding of CPD.

As the HCPC is a regulator, it has standards for its registrants to carry out and record CPD as a core requirement. The role of an employer is therefore important in helping any registrant develop themselves and their careers to ensure they are keeping pace with advancements in health and care. This includes reflecting on and discussing how professionals can be better supported in their working lives.

Details of how to get involved with CPD week are on the HCPC website. It has also published some general guidance about CPD for employers.
