eVisa updates and open UKVI account applications

From August 2024 any employee who has a physical immigration document that expires on or before 31 December 2024 is encouraged to take action and create a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account to access their eVisa. 

UKVI is developing a digital by default immigration system to replace physical documents with an online record known as an eVisa. By 2025, almost all physical immigration products and services will be replaced an eVisa. 

Throughout the first half of 2024, UKVI was operating a phased roll out of eVisas and inviting those with certain visa types to create a UKVI account. 

UKVI has now opened registration to anyone who holds a physical immigration document.
