Retention: learning into actions
The flagship session at our Staff Experience in the NHS conference 2023 looked at improving staff experience in the round to drive progress on the retention asks set out in the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
Led by Caroline Waterfield, Director of Development and Employment at NHS Employers and Dr Ronke Akerele, Director of Culture and Transformation at NHS England, delegates heard about the work being carried out nationally to support employers with local action on staff retention.
Delegates also shared examples of their own approaches to NHS retention and attraction, highlighting what works well and what doesn't, and discussed ideas for further action at a local level, all of which are summarised in the resource below.
