Paul Crampton
Paul, PhD, SFHEA, is co editor-in-Chief of The Clinical Teacher and Director of the Health Professions Education Unit at Hull York Medical School. He joined Hull York Medical School in 2019 as programme director for the MSc, Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate in Health Professions Education, and is Senior Lecturer in medical education.
Paul has over fifteen years' experience in health professions education with a high-quality education and research profile indicated by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and significant grant income. Paul completed his PhD at Durham University and has worked at University College London, Monash University and Newcastle University. Paul has an educational background in psychology. He has been a deputy editor for the journal of medical education since 2019.
Paul has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and more widely in health professions research including approaches to teaching and learning, professional development and curriculum development. Paul has expertise in subjects such as inter-professional learning, quality assurance, longitudinal community placements, workplace bullying, professionalism, fitness to practise and continuing professional development.
