Responding to the NHS Charities Together £16m Workforce Wellbeing Programme launch to support NHS staff across the UK, Caroline Waterfield, director of development and employment at NHS Employers part of the NHS Confederation said:

"This level of funding from NHS Charities Together and matched by NHS England, and the commitment to co-design how it will work is unprecedented and will be warmly welcomed by employers and their individual charities to supplement existing local and national investment in staff wellbeing.

"In recent years, we have seen countless examples of relatively small amounts of charitable funds being used to make a huge difference at a local level, for example to improve facilities and offer spaces to help staff wellbeing."
