NHS Employers responds to the King's Fund report, Realising the Potential of ICSs
Responding to the King’s Fund report Realising the Potential of Integrated Care Systems on behalf of NHS Employers, director of systems and social partnership Rebecca Smith said:
“The findings of this report reflect what NHS Employers hear from integrated care board chief people officers who oversee workforce planning and management across 42 local areas in England.
“It’s good to see this report highlight where progress has been made. As this report emphasises, culture is at the heart of system working and has been critical in driving progress on the one workforce. Last year we set out six steps for creating a culture for integrated working building on our integrated workforce thinking guide to support our members to make this change a reality.
“We welcome the new government’s commitment to the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan published last year, but we need to see this fully funded and a commitment to ongoing regular reviews. We also need to see an equivalent plan for the social care workforce, where vacancy rates are even higher.”
