Our Do OD webinar programme 2024 featured a series of themed sessions delivered by members of the OD community and experts in the field, aimed at anyone working in OD, HR or managers interested in learning from real-world success stories and deepening their understanding of OD in the NHS. Applied practice webinars

Our applied practice webinars provided a platform for speakers to present different perspectives on OD concepts. Bridging the gap between theory and real-life implementation of OD methodologies, they covered projects and initiatives making a tangible impact in NHS organisations.

  • Culture change - watch the recording

    Speaker - Vicky Waterson, transformation manager, culture transformation team at NHS England.

    This webinar explored practical tools and resources from the NHS England culture transformation team aimed at supporting organisations to understand their own culture, create inclusive and compassionate environments, and deliver culture change.


    OD and improvement - watch the recording

    Speakers - Helen Kilgannon, associate director, and Louise Gelder, senior improvement advisor at Advancing Quality Alliance (Aqua).

    Examining the place of OD in continuous improvement and how OD practitioners can build bridges to support this work.

Showcase webinars

The showcase webinars featured members of the OD community demonstrating programmes and processes developed in their own organisations; sharing what they’ve learned, what worked well and what didn't. They provided the opportunity to hear from colleagues facing challenges, celebrating successes or sharing valuable tips and best practice. 

  • Culture change - watch the recording

    Speakers - Jane Billows, senior business partner, culture, change and transformation, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and John Walsh, OD lead and Freedom To Speak Up guardian, Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust and Leeds GP Confederation.

    In this webinar, we heard from two NHS organisations that have successfully implemented OD techniques and methodologies to influence culture change, outlining the programmes and processes developed, what worked well and what lessons were learned.


    System working in OD - watch the recording

    Speakers - this webinar heard from OD teams at Buckingham Health and Social Care Academy and Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board, and the NHS Employers Systems and Integration team.

    The session offered a showcase for OD colleagues with experience of developing successful, integrated working environments in health and care systems to talk about their work, and offer top tips and insights for OD teams in this space.


    Navigating organisational change (no recording available)

    Speakers - Julia Marshall, group associate director, talent and organisational development at Northern Care Alliance; and Rachel De Silva, head of culture, leadership, education and development and Dan Fawkes head of organisational learning and improvement at University Hospital Tees.

    Showcasing the influence of OD during an organisational merger and the mindsets and behaviours needed to support organisational change at all levels. The session explored the language used around change and how OD practitioners can help services and departments be better connected when change is happening.
