ESR retain and improve

Meeting group work

Tools such as the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) can support your local retention strategy by helping you to keep informative and accessible data about your workforce.

Talent management

The talent management functionality of the ESR can be used to help you monitor the careers of employees and manage their development by recording their qualifications, completed training and competencies which can be measured within defined local and national frameworks

A comprehensive suite of reports allows managers and employees to have access to records providing up to date information for local reporting and analysis of training needs.

Complete integration between ESRs learning management facilities and the employee record, allows for easy maintenance of individual training and competency records. This helps managers to ensure that staff development and review processes are being maintained, and provide statutory statistical information.

Absence management

There will always be times when staff become unwell and unable to attend work. The absence management function of ESR accessed via self service, can provide managers with a range of tools to help them manage and reduce sickness absence and support your local objectives around health and well-being.

The aim is not to stop absence from happening but to minimise the negative effects of sustained absence and help an employee overcome the barriers preventing them returning to work.

If you're interested in learning how you can take a more pro-active approach to reducing sickness absence, please view our dedicated action on absence web pages.

The ESR team have developed a useful hand-out that outlines the benefits that the ESR can bring to support the delivery of workforce strategies around retention. Including information about total reward, self-service functions and business intelligence data, the hand-out is available to download.

Access further guidance to understand how ESR can also support your recruitment strategy. More information can be found on the ESR website.
