Description of the role
Five CCGs in south west London (Kingston, Richmond, Merton, Wandsworth and Sutton) have chosen to work collaboratively to maximise health outcomes for local patients. Working closely with Croydon CCG, the five CCGs in the collaboration are consolidating leadership and accountability roles to effectively address the scale of the commissioning challenges set out within the Sustainability & Transformation Plan for south west London (SWL).

Reporting jointly to the relevant clinical commissioning group (CCG) chair, and the accountable officer for the five CCG’s in the collaboration, each CCG will be locally led by a managing director who will lead and direct the work of a local delivery unit (LDU) team to achieve the objectives, priorities and statutory duties of the organisation. The managing director will be a voting member of the relevant CCG governing bodies with responsibility for all aspects of the work of the CCG.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to develop and implement local commissioning strategies and plans that progressively improve and transform health care for local people. They will ensure effective management systems and leadership are in place, directing the operation of the CCG according to agreed strategic commissioning priorities. You will also contribute to the wider commissioning leadership community in SWL in support of the development and delivery of service transformation in accordance with the Sustainability & Transformation Plan.
