Junior doctors, dentists and GP registrars

trainee doctors

NHS Employers plays a leading role in modernising pay and conditions, having assumed from the Department of Health the responsibility to negotiate with the BMA (British Medical Association). As a result, negotiations are now led by employers in the NHS which should ensure that those areas of greatest concern to the service, on contractual issues, are addressed and workable solutions put in place. We also offer guidance and advice on contracts, online and in response to specific enquiries.

This section contains the terms and conditions which detail the national agreements on pay and conditions of service. NHS Employers also produces guidance documents to be read alongside the terms and conditions. These documents are available on the links to the right of this page under in this section.
