How can doctors and nurses lead by example in tackling obesity?

In our recent poll we asked should doctors and nurses working in the NHS lead by example in tackling obesity? The majority of respondents agree they should (95%).

But how?

What does your organisation do to encourage a healthy lifestyle and could it do better? Tell us about any ideas / suggestions you have.

For example:

Does your canteen provide a good range of healthy options?

Does your organisation provide incentives to eating more healthy and exercise, such as discounted gym membership or activity groups for you to get together with colleagues and exercise?

Are you encouraged to take your full break so you can to get a proper lunch and not just reach for the snacks?

Do shift workers have the same healthy eating and exercise options as other staff?
