NICE endorses our creating healthy workplaces toolkit

Creating healthy NHS workplaces

Our creating healthy NHS workplaces toolkit has been officially endorsed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as an evidence based resource to help implement the NICE workplace guidance.

The toolkit aims to support the NHS to improve staff health and wellbeing by providing practical tips and step-by-step information on how to implement the six pieces of NICE workplace guidance.
Responding to the endorsement, Daniel Mortimer, chief executive of NHS Employers, said:

“It’s a real credit to the value and impact of our creating healthy workplaces toolkit for it to be formally endorsed by NICE. Like our work, NICE uses evidence based practice to create robust guidance for healthcare improvement, and we look forward to supporting many more organisations in improving the health of their workplaces.”

National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, December 2016 stated:

"This toolkit supports the recommendations in the NICE guidelines on long-term sickness absence and incapacity to work, mental wellbeing at work, obesity prevention, smoking: workplace interventions, physical activity in the workplace and physical activity and the environment."

The toolkit includes case studies, infographics, checklists, tips, research and summary guidance on mental wellbeing, smoking, long-term sickness, physical activity and obesity. Download our creating healthy NHS workplaces toolkit.
