Public Health England (PHE) has updated its Healthier and More Sustainable Catering: a toolkit for serving food to adults, to reflect the changes in government dietary advice.
The updated toolkit now includes practical guidance to enable organisations to offer people a healthy food experience, which has been defined as a selection of food and drink that meets people's daily nutritional needs in a sustainable way.
The toolkit was first published in August 2014 to support those working within national and local government, the NHS, voluntary and community sector and food-related businesses, who want to offer consumers a choice of affordable, healthy and sustainable food. As part of the April 2016 health and wellbeing indicator in the Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN), NHS organisations are now funded to improve the support they offer to healthcare staff to stay healthy. The focus is on giving staff better access to health and wellbeing initiatives and to support them to make healthy choices and lead healthy lives.

to improve the health, wellbeing, effectiveness
and productivity of its workforce.
