Support Military March, a month-long celebration of the NHS Reserve Forces. As part of this campaign we have launched our newly refreshed web area which now includes a resource library, we will be holding regional working groups so organisations can take a collaborative approach to supporting the Reserve Forces, and we will be releasing a new suite of resources to help raise awareness of reservists within your organisation. Read the details below to find out more about our activities and how you can be part of the conversation.
New web pages and email address
You will also notice that we have changed the name of our web section and email address to Armed Forces. This is to reflect the feedback from employers who are not only supportive of reservists but the wider Armed Forces community. For more information on our expanding work in this area, keep an eye on our latest news web pages .
To launch Military March, we have refreshed our web pages. The new and improved ‘Supporting the Armed Forces in the NHS’ web section has been restructured to make our content much easier to navigate. The section now includes a new employers roles and responsibilities section focusing on why and how you can support members of the Reserve Forces, reservist facts and a new resource library.
Regional working groups
Following feedback from the successful NHS Reserve Forces Champions forums, we will be holding regional working groups. This will offer a more regional approach to the reservist and wider Armed Forces agenda, and will also provide a platform for organisations to work together to move it forward.
These groups will be held in locations across the country (see list below), run from 10.30am - 3.30pm and include a networking lunch where your local military units will be invited.
- Tuesday 14 March – Friends Meeting House, Manchester
- Wednesday 15 March – NHS Employers, Leeds
- Tuesday 21 March – Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London
- Wednesday 22 March – Exchange House, Taunton
- Tuesday 28 March – Bruntwood Cornwall Buildings, Birmingham
- Wednesday 29 March – The Gonville Hotel, Cambridge
To book your place please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Awareness raising resources
The new suite of resources, including presentation, speaker notes, videos and action cards, that have been created in partnership with Health Education England, will be released on 20 March to complement a guide to employing reservists in the NHS. The resource pack can be embedded as part of line manager development programmes or induction training.
