November flu fighters award winners announced

Flu bug

Our November competition focused on peer vaccinators, who play an important role in the fight against flu. We were looking for some great examples of how peer vaccinators can make a huge difference to flu fighting campaigns.

We are pleased to announce that University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are the winning trust and recipients of flu fighter branded tabards.

What have they been doing?

Following the evaluation of their 2015 campaign, University Hospitals of Leicester Trust trebled their number of peer vaccinators to a have a team of 90, which includes consultants, their chief nurse and numerous senior nurses. To make the flu campaign more effective the team:

  • placed peer vaccinators across the hospital's three sites to ensure maximum coverage.
  • Peer vaccinator availability was publicised
  • Drop in clinics were held at key locations such as, the canteen, junior doctor teaching sessions as well as theatre and directorate meetings.

Next reward competition

Our December competition is now open for entries and is focused on the best use of reward in your local campaign.
