Read our response to the Department of Health's recent consultation on draft regulations which prevent employers discriminating against individuals who have made a protected disclosure.
Key points include:
- employers welcome an open, responsive and learning culture
- changes in employment practice and behaviours are unlikely to be driven by adding further regulations
- focus needs to be on supporting employers to minimise the risk of entering into employment tribunals
- staff, family and public confidence in the protection requires a system wide approach across both health and social care.
