We are looking for a strategic leader to head-up our Primary Care Contracting Team (PCC). The team manages and supports the negotiations between NHS Employers and those organisations representing primary care contractors. In particular, the PCC Team is responsible for conducting negotiations on the General Medical Services (GMS) contract in accordance with agreed mandates from NHS England.

Accountable to the assistant director, the head of primary care will be directly responsible for the strategic and operational management of the national (and other) negotiations that relate to the GMS contract and clinical service change programmes. The head of primary care will play a significant role in progressing major national negotiations which underpin a large part of the Government’s health agenda and represent a very important part of the contract NHS Employers has with NHS England.

What are we looking for?

You will need to have experience of developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across a range of organisations and at varying levels. An ability to understand and interpret complex and sometimes ambiguous information, draw conclusions and develop proposals will also be key requirements for this role. Ideally, you will also have some knowledge of primary care contracts and their function within the wider NHS.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you or you wish to discuss the post before applying, then please contact Marie-Claire Demblon on 0207 799 8665 or Paul Wallace on 07703 133074.

To apply, please complete the application form (CVs will not be accepted) and send to jobapplications@nhsconfed.org by 5.30pm on 24th May 2017.

Interviews will be held on 2nd June 2017
